Erika loses a tooth

Erika loses her second tooth. Her permanant tooth was growing behind her baby tooth giving her a case of shark teeth. We waited a month and nothing was hapening. Off to the dentist we went. She helped Erika wiggle the tooth out and the tooth fairy came.

Her permanant tooth should now move into the spot where her baby tooth was. Unfortunately, it looks like she has a small mouth with big teeth. Sorry kiddo, you get that from your Mommy. :-)

Christmas 2010

Christmas started out quietly. Notice that 2 out of 3 kids are reading when there are more presents to open.

We all got a little sauced on chocolate milk.

Later we went to a party and Santa showed up.

Erika was a huge hit with all the aunties.

A must-have giant racoon puppet was it.
For those who say money does not buy happiness, let me introduce you to "Reddy Raccoon who is 6 years old like me."

Kathy and Keith's visit

Granpa Keith learns about Zhu-Zhu pets

Erkia poses in her christmas dress, Catie gets into the frame. Cheese!

Miranda has been struggling with a cold. Fortunately grandma Kathy is available to make it all better.

With the help of uncle Mark, we enjoyed 17lbs of prime rib.

Thanksgiving 2010 snow start

Last time it snowed in Western Washington in November was 1985. But this year we've had a blast of arctic whatnot which as completely screwed up the week. Note to mid-westerners, if it gets below freezing and snows as little as an inch here, it means that an unfortunately large number of people spend the night on the impassable freeways, and if you are out and about when it hits, you may have to abandon your car and walk. We lucky 5 have been spared such indignity, but getting out of our cul de sac is extremely challenging! So it's best to not to try. In fact, as Catie and Miranda demonstrate, it's best to snuggle on the couch and indulge in chocolate milk. Weather will be back to the 40s and raining by the weekend. Oh, sweet drizzly, gray serenity how we miss you!

Snow Day

When we woke up this morning, we saw snow falling. What better time to try out the snow pants on the neighbor's trampoline.

Erika goes first. It's a bit trickier than it first seems.

The first snowball.

Miranda is more introspective today, but she enjoyed being outside.

Catie likes this snow throwing concept.

Do NOT touch my candy!

Catie has inherited the Look and isn't afraid to use it when her stash of candy is under attack.

Trick or Treat

The obvious solution when one has identical twins.

Erika decided to be a kitty witch with red highlights in her hair as Catie gets in on the picture fun

Miranda as Thing 2. The blue hair stuff I bought didn't work well on their fine hair.

Pajama Day Part 2

Erika and her friend, Sarah, listen to a bedtime story about owls.

Part of the fun of the pajama party is "waking up" to a pancake breakfast. Erika & Sarah wait for their pancakes. Ms Polly also taught the kids how to cut their pancakes by themselves.

More of Erika's class working their new knife skills.

Catie and Miranda (in back) were the official taste testers for the orange and apple juice. Miranda thinks her juice is not up to spec. :-)

Pajama Day

Erika's class had a pajama day instead of a costume party. Fortunately, I was able to volunteer as I could bring Catie and Miranda with me to help. Below, Miranda is very excited to volunteer, complete with her own visitor's badge.

Ms Polly, the teacher, awaits the return of the kiddos from recess. She seems to be thinking, "now what am I missing for the PJ party?"

Erika in her PJs and favorite teddy bear.

Catie helps out by finding the purple legos in the lego table.

Costume practice at the YMCA

On Sat., we went to the YMCA costume party to have some fun and try out the costumes for this year. Erika is a witch with the best hat I've evern seen.

The twins are Thing 1 and Thing 2 as this is the last year I, Mommy, have this much influence over their costume choice. I'm the Cat-in-the-Hat. Make-up and blue hair on Halloween night.

Catie says Boodu!

This stuffed dog gets a lot of mileage at our house.
In fact, he has three names:
Erika-Puppito
Catie-Boodu
Miranda-Enu
I'm not sure how sustainable three independent languages are, but we'll get there.
